Frequently asked questions

Our fruit

What is in a bag of Crunchy Orchard fruit?

Each bag holds one freeze-dried fruit. We make six: strawberry slices (60 g), whole raspberries (60 g), whole blueberries (90 g), banana slices (110 g), mango slices (75 g) and apple pieces (60 g). Each bag contains only that fruit, freeze-dried, with no added sugar. Ingredients, by bag: strawberries only, raspberries only, blueberries only, bananas only, mangoes only or apples only. Bundles contain the same single-fruit bags. The nutrition facts for each fruit are on its product page in our Shop.

Is there added sugar?

No. Our fruit has no added sugar. Any sweetness comes from the fruit itself.

How does freeze-drying work?

Regular dried fruit is made with heat. Freeze-drying works differently: the fruit is frozen solid first, then the moisture is removed without really heating it. Roughly 98 to 99 percent of the water comes out. That is why the fruit stays light and crisp and snaps when you bite it. Read more in What Does Freeze-Dried Fruit Taste Like?.

How long does it keep?

Our pouches are resealable and have no micro-holes, so once you seal the bag back up, the fruit stays crunchy. Every fruit is labelled with a best-before date of at least 2 years.

Is it a good snack for kids and lunch boxes?

Our kids are the reason we started: we wanted a snack we were proud to hand our own children, just fruit with no added sugar. It is a no-mess snack that is easy to tuck into a lunch box. All our products are gluten-free and nut-free.

How do you eat it?

Straight from the bag, on a cheese board, or crumbled over yogurt, oatmeal or pie.
